BASSPART

Privacy Policy

Effective 4 September 2026. Last updated 25 September 2026.

BassPart is a free iPad app for building and reading bass charts. It is published by Ryan Johns (GovITInsider).

This policy describes what data BassPart collects, if any, how that data is used, and how you can delete it. It applies to the BassPart iPad app and to these GitHub Pages.

We do not collect your data

BassPart does not create accounts, does not require a sign-in, and does not include analytics, advertising, crash reporters, or other tracking. The app does not send your charts, linked PDFs, setlists, or settings to us or to any third party.

Apple’s App Privacy label for BassPart is: Data Not Collected.

What stays on your iPad

Charts, setlists, custom cue tags, section types, and any PDF you link to a song are stored in the app’s sandbox on that iPad. Settings such as Hear part, volume, and page scroll are stored in standard on-device preferences.

Hear part generates tones on the device. BassPart does not record the microphone and does not access your photo library or music library. A linked PDF is a file you pick in Files; BassPart copies it onto the iPad with that song.

When files leave the device

Files leave the iPad only if you export them. Export uses the system share sheet. You choose the destination (Files, Mail, AirDrop, and so on). We do not receive those files.

If you open a GitHub Issues page from Support, GitHub’s own privacy policy applies to that website. Opening these pages in Safari may use GitHub’s servers to fetch the HTML. That is not the BassPart app collecting data.

Third parties

The app uses only Apple frameworks (including SwiftUI, PDFKit, and AVFoundation). It does not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or social SDKs. We do not share user data with third parties because we do not receive it.

Retention and deletion

Because we do not collect your data, there is nothing for us to retain, sell, or disclose.

On the iPad, you delete songs, setlists, and linked PDFs in the app. Deleting BassPart from the iPad deletes the sandbox copy of that library. Exported backups that you saved elsewhere are under your control.

There is no account, so there is no account-deletion flow. If you want the app’s copy of your library gone, delete the songs in the app or delete the app.

Children

BassPart is not directed at children under 13. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
